Parkland T-STEM Academy, Ysleta ISD

Vision Statement:
All students who enroll in the T-STEM Academy will graduate from high school as future leaders of the community with work skills of the 21st century and ready to enter college while becoming successful citizens. Mission Statement: Through school and work-world based experiences, students will be active participants in 21st century learning. To increase student achievement by engaging and exposing students to innovative science, math and engineering instruction with technology integrated activities across the curriculum.

Goals:

  • Provide students with a strong academic foundation as well as technical expertise, foster success in college math, science, engineering and technology programs, and ensure high standards and challenging opportunities through integration of theory and best practices.
  • Provide a learning environment that favors problem-solving and interdisciplinary instruction as related to math, science, engineering and technology where students are active partners in their education and learn how to apply knowledge and techniques to real life work situations.
  • Promote student retention and college readiness.
  • Increase the number of students entering math, science, engineering, and technology fields.
  • Align with the educational and economic development goals of Parkland HS and Ysleta ISD.
  • Specialty Area at Parkland HS is Engineering, our teacher was an electrical engineer for 26 years and will give students her knowledge and expertise.

  • Our students are projected to graduate from high school with approximately 48-65 college hours.
