Draw what you see as you develop your drawing techniques and learn the basic principles of line and perspective. Students will explore several drawing techniques as they experiment with pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, pastel and pen & ink. Students will draw animals, a self-portrait and a still-life.

Learn to draw the figure beginning with studies of the skeleton and continuing with rapid gesture drawings, contour studies, tonal exercises and more detailed drawings using charcoal, conte crayon, marker and oil throughout the course.  Timed exercises with the help of Joyce's critique during class will assist the student in improving his/her skills regarding foreshortening, proportions, body alignment and expression in body movement.  Gain confidence in learning how to draw with our eyes tapping into the unconscious artist within.

 

Botanical Pen Drawing and Painting Workshop DR04

Students will learn a pen drawing technique to build their fundamental drawing skills. Students will then learn how to add color to their drawings using pastel and watercolor.
